As the Parliamentary elections stare right in front of us, it asks us the question: “Do you want to exercise your right to end fascism?”. It is unfortunate that, at this time, we are even doubting whether the majority of the people will choose a fascist communal government for the third consecutive time. But it is the time of hope. Today, 22 Jan 2024 marks the inauguration of the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, the said birth place of “Ram”, at the very place where the Babri Masjid was demolished by the Karsevaks of the Sangh Parivar namely BJP, RSS and VHP. Is India still secular? Undeniably, there is a heavy feeling around the country now. Nothing questioned the secularity of my country than this moment. Mattel and Barbie It is no less fun watching a satirical take on Barbie, being one of the most self-aware creations of recent times. There is a satirical scene in which the CEO of Mattel, the company behind Barbie, says, “NO WAY” to a request for an “ordinary Barbie with flaws” and goes on to say, “OH YEAH SURE” once the numbers guy checks and says this idea can be sold well.
